Instrumentation School
Are you interested in astronomical instrumentation? Do you want to know how an instrumentation project is realised? The first OPTICON Instrumentation School will be organised July 3-12, 2017 in Copenhagen with the theme 'Observing the transient sky'. In this school you will do a 'Phase A' study of an instrument, for either detecting or characterising transient sources.
This school follows the model of Alpbach school in Space instrumentation, but now applied to ground-based instrumentation. You will plan an instrument in small groups led by an experienced tutor. During the first week the mornings are dedicated to lectures and the afternoons to group work. During second week the students will concentrate on group work. In the end of the school all groups will present their plans.
OPTICON will cover the accommodation and lunches in Copenhagen. Additionally, some travel support can be provided. The application to this school is now closed, and the applicants will be informaed about the selection on Friday May 12.
